What makes this home North American-quality?
Little things like the bath tub separate from the shower in the master bath, the double sink in the kitchen, the larger size toilets, the extra large windows and screen doors.
Bigger things too like the extra-deep foundation (that was UNSCATHED in the 2016 earthquake), the wrap-around kitchen with island, the inner ceiling of LED lights the porcelain flooring (instead of basic ceramic tiles), screens on the windows (not a given in Ecuador). And of course the covered one car garage.
Why hasn’t it sold in the year it has been finished?
We finished just before the big 2016 earthquake which (although did not effect this part of the coast much) kind of killed the market. Just now in 2017 we are starting to see it come back again. So if interested better get in on this quick. Consider the home earthquake-tested.
How is the security in the area?
It’s good, Puerto Cayo is one of the few towns on the coast of Ecuador where you can walk around anytime day or night no problems. The property itself is surrounded by foreign neighbors and a short walk to the nearest police station.
